2014 Silk Road Art Walk of Skaneateles

 

2014 marks the 35th anniversary of one of Central New York's finest community art and music festivals located in the beautiful lakeside village of Skaneateles.

 

This year features a theme revolving around East Meets West featuring many fine musical performances from China and the Shanghai Quartet. In addition, Artlynx Consulting is presenting many of acclaimed artist Lampo Leong's inspired artwork to the community for visitors and locals alike to enjoy.

 

Lampo Leong is an internationally acclaimed painter, calligrapher, and multimedia artist who received his BFA in ink painting from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, his MFA in painting with High Distinction from the California College of the Arts, and his PhD in Art Theory and Practice from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing.

 

He is currently a Professor of Art at the University of Missouri-Columbia and a former Art Department Chair. He is also a Visiting Professor at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Central China Normal University, and a Distinguished Researcher at the Guangzhou Painting Academy. He has also been named the Weiner Distinguished Professor at the Missouri University of Science and Technology.

 

In addition to working on his art, Leong has presented over 160 lectures across the US and Asia at institutions such as the University of

California at Berkeley, Stanford University, Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Harbin Institute of Technology, Chongqing University, Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, Macao University, and Tainan National University of the Arts.
